Germplasm Evaluation, Genetic Variability, Heritability, Genetic Advance, and Character Analysis in Scented and Non-Scented Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Under Irrigated Conditions

Eighty-nine germplasm of rice (Oryza sativa L.) along with four checks were evaluated in a well-prepared field to assess the genetic variability, heritability, and advance for different characters under irrigated conditions Augmented Block Design. In this study, analysis variance revealed highly significant or all 13 except non–significant 1000- grain weight. High moderate broad sense heritability was recorded 1000-grain weight, days maturity, 50 % flowering, spikelet fertility which showed low heritability. Genetic percent mean high number fertile per panicle, had advance. The phenotypic genotypic coefficient variation higher flag leaf area harvest index, L/B ratio. Non- hierarchical Euclidean grouped eighty-nine into eight clusters study existence wide diversity within Oryza germplasm. Among clusters, highest genotypes present cluster III contained 23 entries, followed by IV VII 14 11entries, respectively. While least no VIII only 4 genotypes. intra-cluster distance observed II (3.664) while lowest V (2.327). case inter-cluster distance, value between (5.698) (2.808). diverse may serve as parental material hybridization program will lead isolation desirable sergeants developing high-yielding varieties conditions.
